Rudolph & Hellmann Logistics Insights Newsletter Winter 2024

Quarterly newsletter from Rudolph & Hellmann Logistics Solutions www.rudolphandhellmann.com LogisticsInsights Winter 2024 Rudolph and Hellmann have secured a contract for line feed logistics at Jaguar Land Rover’s (JLR) Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC) starting January 1st 2025 – three months earlier than initially planned. The three-year contract was awarded in July, reflecting a strong relationship and effective planning between the two companies. JLR’s Comprehensive Line Feed Tender Earlier this year, JLR tendered line feed logistics for all five of its UK manufacturing plants, a move driven by its ambitious “Reimagine” strategy. Announced in April 2023, the £15 billion strategy aims to transform JLR into the world’s leading modern luxury car manufacturer. It focuses on advancements in electric vehicles, AI, digital technologies and workforce development. Strategic, Pragmatic Approach Pays Off Rudolph and Hellmann chose to only bid one contract, incorporating the EPMC and BAC line feed operations (which starts April). These aligned with our current operational capacity and areas where we felt we could make significant improvements. Their targeted approach and technical competence impressed JLR during negotiations, which used a bonus-malus system to evaluate technical solutions, price, and expertise. The early start for the EPMC contract was made possible by a collaborative handover from the incumbent and a robust implementation plan, demonstrating R&HA’s readiness to deliver from day one. JLR Contract Win A Culture of Safety at Mini Plant Oxford Rudolph & Hellmann has made significant strides in safety at Mini Plant Oxford, especially during the demanding F6X project. Our leadership-focused safety culture empowered teams to embed proactive practices into every aspect of operations. Initiatives included enhanced training modules, robust risk management, and the implementation of interactive toolbox talks, keeping safety at the forefront. With a rigorous review of 104 risk assessments and six new ones tailored to evolving challenges, safety planning ensured seamless transitions during major operational changes. This commitment achieved impressive milestones, including a zero RIDDOR count and an 75% reduction in workplace accidents. These efforts reflect the enduring partnership between Rudolph and Hellmann and BMW, where mutual trust and innovation ensured safety and excellence remained constant, even during unprecedented industry challenges. Together, they’ve set a new standard for operational safety in automotive logistics. • Zero RIDDOR count • 75% reduction in workplace accidents • Green contractual KPI’s for all safety- related targets F6X Model change Health & Safety Initiative Winners BiW/VZ2 Team 2 and right Sorin Ulidescu (Health & Safety Manager) with Alina Uleru (Senior Compliance Officer) who developed and managed the Health & Safety Initiatives.
