Global Impact: Supporting International Projects In addition to our UK-based offsetting, we also contributed to two international projects through The Gold Standard, further broadening our positive impact. 100 MW Solar Power Plant in Maharashtra, India Improved Cook Stove Project 2, Nkhata Bay District, Malawi This project, developed by Juniper Green Energy Pvt. Ltd. and Nisagra Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd., provides clean, renewable energy to the region. It offers multiple environmental and social benefits, including increased energy security, decarbonisation of the local agricultural industry, and improved access to groundwater. By enhancing energy security for local agriculture, the project bolsters both food security and income for local communities. The solar plant also reduces the reliance on unstable and poorly maintained generators and their associated infrastructure, improving water access and overall quality of life. This project, run by RIPPLE Africa, a UK charity, distributes Changu Changu Moto high-efficiency biomass cook stoves to approximately 22,000 households, benefiting around 200,000 people. This initiative significantly improves livelihoods, prevents deforestation, and reduces respiratory diseases, burns, and greenhouse gas emissions. Beyond the environmental benefits of reduced deforestation and cleaner-burning stoves, this project dramatically improves the quality of life for families in the region. 23
