The Midlands Economic Summit 2024

Rudolph & Hellmann were sponsors of the prestigious annual event which took place at the Vox Conference Centre.

A hub of innovation and endeavour

The Midlands Engine economy is worth over £252.6bn per year and accounts for 22% of England’s exports – more than London and the South East. The Midlands Economic Summit is the largest gathering of business leaders, senior policy makers and parliamentarians invested in the region. Bringing together over 500 leaders from the business, academic, and public sectors, this event has become a unique platform for engagement and collaboration.

“We had some really interesting conversations and made several great contacts at the conference. But more than that it was inspiring to hear the stories of so many people and organisations who exemplify the entrepreneurial sprint.”

Driving Investment, Powering Growth

This year’s Summit, themed “Driving Investment, Powering Growth,” was particularly timely for the Midlands and the entire UK economy. Despite significant growth potential, the region faces substantial challenges, including economic instability, geopolitical tensions, high prices and interest rates, and evolving work patterns. The Summit focused on what could be done to strengthen the Midlands economy, and how we should focus on creating a unified regional identity that leverages existing growth opportunities to attract investment.
